Developed by Italy’s IVECO Defence Vehicles and first produced in 2004–2006, the LMV entered service with the Italian Army as the VTLM Lince. The vehicle is prized for its lightweight ballistic and mine protection, and its flexibility across roles—from troop transport to reconnaissance—has made it a global standard.
Powered by a 3.0 L turbodiesel engine delivering 190 hp and 456 Nm torque. The updated LMV2 features a 220 hp engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Offers modular armor compliant with STANAG 4569 Levels 1–3, including mine protection. LMV2 adds advanced IED shielding, door reinforcement, and digitized systems.
Equipped with independent suspension, CTIS, ABS, and ESP. The LMV runs at >130 km/h with a range up to 600 km, and can ford depths up to 1.5 m.
Crew complements typically include 1 driver + 4 passengers. LMV variants range from Standard Cab Short to Medevac Long Wheelbase configurations.
In use by nations including Italy, UK (Panther CLV), Belgium, Norway, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Russia, and Ukraine. Over 4,000 units produced.
