Naran Automotive Sets 2027 Delivery Target for BMW M8-Based Hyper Coupe, Adds Senior Auto Veterans

Dateline: November 13, 2025

Naran Automotive has set a new delivery window for its limited-run Hyper Coupe, targeting customer handovers in 2027. The UK-founded supercar maker, established in 2017, also announced two high-profile hires-Ollie Evans as Managing Director and Giles Clayton-Jones as Director of Sales and Marketing-as it pushes toward production of the BMW M8-based model. Only 39 units are planned, with extensive personalization for buyers.

Seasoned Leaders Join Naran to Drive the Hyper Coupe to Production

Naran’s latest appointment is Ollie Evans, who becomes Managing Director after senior roles at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and Callum Designs. At JLR, Evans served as Head of the Special Commissions Program, and at Callum he was Commercial and Finance Director. Earlier this year, Naran named Giles Clayton-Jones as Director of Sales and Marketing; he previously held roles at Rolls-Royce and McLaren. The company said it plans to expand its team further with additional hires early next year.

Key developments

  • New Managing Director: Ollie Evans (ex-JLR, Callum Designs)
  • Sales & Marketing Lead: Giles Clayton-Jones (ex-Rolls-Royce, McLaren)
  • Delivery target: 2027
  • Production cap: 39 cars
  • Personalization: Owners can customize extensively and even name their cars

Hyper Coupe Delivery Target: 2027

Following a design debut in 2020 and a missed 2022 launch plan, Naran carried out a more comprehensive reveal last year and now projects first customer deliveries in 2027. The company indicated that volume will be tightly limited, and it has not stated that every unit will be delivered within that year. Given the bespoke nature of the program and the small run of 39 examples, the revised timing appears aligned with niche supercar production cycles.

BMW M8 Underpinnings, Bespoke Coachwork

Differentiating itself from ground-up startups, Naran is building the Hyper Coupe on the BMW M8 platform. The car’s profile retains the M8’s greenhouse beneath a heavily reworked body, while the powertrain is an upgraded version of the M8’s setup. The approach leverages a proven chassis and engineering base, aiming to reduce development risk while focusing resources on design, dynamics, and customization.

Positioning and Personalization

Naran’s strategy centers on high exclusivity and owner involvement. With only 39 cars planned, each Hyper Coupe will be configured to buyer specifications, with the brand stating that owners will be able to thoroughly customize and even name their examples. This mirrors the bespoke ethos typically seen in ultra-low-volume, coach-built projects.

From Missed Milestones to Renewed Momentum

Naran’s timeline underscores the challenges facing emerging supercar brands. The company was founded in 2017, previewed the Hyper Coupe’s design in 2020, and missed a planned 2022 launch. A more detailed presentation last year suggested progress, and the recent executive hires, coupled with a 2027 delivery target, indicate continued development toward production readiness.

Why It Matters

  • Experienced leadership from JLR, Callum, Rolls-Royce, and McLaren strengthens Naran’s operational and commercial execution.
  • BMW M8 foundations provide a validated platform, potentially streamlining engineering and testing.
  • Limited production and bespoke options position the Hyper Coupe squarely in the ultra-luxury, collector-focused segment.

Background and Context

The supercar space is crowded with startups touting radical designs and ambitious performance claims. Naran’s approach-anchoring its Hyper Coupe to an established OEM platform-may offer a more pragmatic path. The brand’s focus on craftsmanship, personalization, and a capped production run aligns with current demand trends among high-net-worth enthusiasts seeking rarity and tailored design.

Conclusion: Next Steps for the Hyper Coupe

Naran Automotive is advancing its Hyper Coupe program with new senior hires, a 2027 delivery target, and a 39-unit production run that emphasizes bespoke builds. The company says further recruitment is planned early next year, signaling ongoing ramp-up toward limited-series production of its BMW M8-based supercar.
